Zurab Tsereteli’s Gallery of Arts can be hardly named a museum in a sense we are used to. It’s more like a modern cultural centre which organically unites different ideas, art trends and styles. The palace has been transformed into a big exhibition complex with dozens of different halls and roofed courtyards, all designed to exhibit art works. The general area for exhibition space is about 10 000 square meters.
The Big Apple Hall. The most massive sculptures are gathered in a huge glassy atrium of the Gallery of Arts. In the center of the hall, there is the 12-meter high bronze apple, a well-known fruit of the Tree of knowledge of good and evil. This huge space can receive about a thousand guests at once. Its technical equipment allows to demonstrate video programs as well as to organize live concerts.
