| | | | | | | | | By the 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg the Palace of Congresses was restored from the ruins of the famous architectural monument of XVIII century - the Konstantinovsky palace and park complex in Strelna. When laying the cornerstone for the foundation of the Grand Strelninsky (Konstantinovsky) Palace in 1720, Peter I planned to build the main naval residence here. The palace was to be a diplomatic door to Europe - Russian Versailles, the symbol of power and prosperity of Russia. However, the plans of Peter I were realized only three centuries later.
 
Now the Konstantinovsky Palace is a new symbol of Saint Petersburg. This was the place for the highest-level events attended by statesmen from all over the world during the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg. Today the newly restored ceremonial halls of the Konstantinovsky Palace are regularly used to hold different events: corporate meetings, scientific and political forums, festive banquets and receptions, balls and fashion shows.
